Leveraging Risk and Quality Data for Digital Products and Digital Production

The implementation of digitalization is challenging for production companies - there are many opportunities and directions for digitalization of product and production systems. This project will build competences to leverage digital capabilities at the interface of product development and manufacturing. Risk management will serve as a bridge of efficiency between development of digital products and digital production capabilities. The aim is to significantly improve the quality during the early production runs, by better leveraging testing and sensor data for understanding production-related quality risks, feed-back this information to development (to avoid production risks during design), as well as feed-forward information from R&D to production (to better prepare for unavoidable production challenges). The project will involve the digital product and digital production. We will use risk management as a lens of improvement and analytical perspective regarding efficiency and effectiveness.
